I spent my childhood picking shellfish on the west coast of Ireland and mushroom hunting with my grandfather. I am a lover of all things outdoors. I truly believe that nature is food for the soul and her enthusiasm for wild plants is contagious.

In the last few years I felt the pains of growing without the income and then came COVID. Oh how I loved meandering up the mountains, basket in hand, in search for monthly treasure. I ran small group tours where we would gather, roam and pick to our souls content. However, these weekly adventures came to an abrupt halt during the global pandemic. Being locked inside was a nightmare for most and for somebody who loved the forests more than anything else in the world, being confined by concrete walls was impossible. I kept up my weekly rambles in the nearby park but without sharing there was less joy.

All that being said, I tried and I am here to tell the tale of a forager getting back on the tracks where I feel that I belong.

Let's Go Wild

Why me?

Dear Reader,

I truly believe that getting back to nature is important for the mind, body and soul. Seeking, finding and picking wild foods is a thrill that I want to pass on, so here I am with two hands out and a few tips to get you started.

The dream is to connect people from around the world with seasonal wild food adventures and farms that need help during harvest times. If you are a food lover, an adventure seeker, a supporter of sustainable living or somebody who enjoys trying out a new recipe then you are in the right spot.

I tend to throw in a few odd Irish phrases and act the maggot sometimes so don't be afraid to give me feedback whenever you see fit. I can go off on tangents about food policies but all with good intentions and I will try to limit my ranting behavior.

Hopefully we will have some fun and learn a thing or two along the way.

Happy Reading,

Lisa
